Hi micah thanks for the comment. I wouldn't say that their control panel is better than cpanel that other hosting providers provide. Cpanel gives you a lot more control of your webspace and features. I am still awaiting the launch of the eagerley anticipated Cluster Server which has been said will solve most of the issues currently being experienced on the Grid Service. It was supposed to be launched in Q4 of 2008 but has been postponed to a 2009 launch.

The Media Temple account centre is a well designed and intuitive layout that I feel has had a lot of thought put into it to make it as simple and easy to navigate as can be.

From my experience, loading times on the server have been pretty quick. Although they is a slight lag now and again, it's roughly the same speed I get with my other sites which are hosted on shared hosting packages.

The most noticeable difference in speed is in the account centre where pages seem to take ages to load which is a bit of a let down regardless of how pretty the interface looks.

Thank you for the review, it's a good read.

I'm interested in knowing what puts their control panel ahead of the standard cpanel - which is what most linux hosting services provide and what I'm use to.

I'm also curious to know what type of tools they provide for measuring the up time of their servers, knowing they're still working out the kinks on an exciting new technology.

How fast are the load times on your pages? Isn't that the biggest differentiator between the average shared hosting plan?

Thanks,
micah
